CHAPTER 7

            “
kay, class, so today we’re going to do a Physics project—
and it includes only two partners,” Mrs. Jean said.

with? Oh, great. So without my best friend here, who will I partner
“And the project is about the studies we learned from gravity and

          mass last semester,” she continued.

Wait, what? How the heck are we going to do a project on gravity
and mass that we learned three months ago? And we just started

school—why are we doing a project so fast?
Right after Mrs. Jean talked about what we were supposed to do

who would bother me. “Your partner is Travis.”

Oh. I actually wasn’t expecting that.
“Both of you should start working on your project at one of your

          desks.”

I was kind of—and not kind of—surprised. I mean, Travis? The
new kid was my project partner? Although, I was lucky it wasn’t one

of those annoying boys in the class. I took out my notebook, pen, and
Physics book and waited for Travis to come to my desk, because I was
