CHAPTER SEVENTEEN




          A
                     t this point in my life, I realized that I needed
                     the  Lord  Jesus  as  my  Savior.  I  could  no

                     longer continue living this miserable life, so

          I started watching television services. At that time, there
          weren’t very many of them on, but I saw one I liked. It

          was  called  the  Queen's  Way  Cathedral,  with  Pastor
          Ruthledge.  It  was  quite  a  distance,  but  I  took  two

          different buses to get there. I attended there for a while
          because  the  preaching  was  good—until  suddenly,  a

          scandal broke out in the church. The pastor was gay. I

          left and was told about another church called Oakwood
          Wesleyan, named after John Wesley. In other words, it

          was a Wesleyan church in 1988. Unknown to me, a split
          was taking place. One half of the church went one way,

          leaving  the  other  half  behind.  And  so  began  my
          Christian journey.


          One weekend, someone invited me to a crusade. What I

          didn’t know was that it was a Seventh-day Adventist
