RADICAL LOVE
“If you genuinely desire union with the unspeakable love of God,
then you must be prepared to have your religious world shattered.”
Is this not what God did through the COVID-19 crisis? The way we
had been doing church for many years was now turned upside down.
This was certainly the case in my church, where our pastor was
instructed to come out of the building and visit homes. God was calling
us to something new. And those who embraced it are now part of a
house church.
Although that may not be what you, the reader, are being called to, I
still believe that the period of us being locked down was an opportunity
for the Body of Christ to feed on Him and find direction for themselves.
Furthermore, as we wait and cultivate further intimacy with Him, He
will most definitely continue to reveal the way forward—because the
Body must function His way, not ours, from now on.
As I mentioned earlier, some versions of the Bible also say that the
Shulamite should set Him as a seal upon her arm. The first point I wish
to make here is that arms are more visible to the human eye. We can
sometimes forget that our hearts are beating every minute of every day;
however, we would soon realise if our arm were no longer there.
Sealing Jesus over the arm, in addition to the heart, is a safety net to
guard her from forgetting what He has told her. Arms are also symbolic
of power, actions, and ministries. Unless it is the Holy Spirit at work in
our actions and ministries, not only will we see little fruit in what we
