Corban Hondru, a freshman linebacker for Miami
University, played his first college football game Sept.
2, 2021, against the University of Cincinnati — with par-
ents Scott and Kathleen Hondru in the stands to cheer
him on. Scott is senior vice president | sales executive
at the Pgh. office.
Corban was a standout athlete at Peters Town-
ship High School, where he was team captain and
earned All-State honors as a junior and was named to
All-Pennsylvania Defensive Team as a senior.
In addition, he was named to the Post-Gazette’s Fab
22 Team, the Observer-Reporter’s Player of the Year
and The Trib’s 25 All-Stars.
Athleticism runs in the Hondru
family. Scott played football at
the University of Delaware and
Kathleen was a swimmer at
John Carroll University. Corban’s
sister, Kate, plays softball at
Delaware.
