Update:
The LatAm Branch has been very active lately, in spite of the pandemic.
We are working on several agreements of cooperation with important entities and we´ve been
participating in different virtual events.
1) 1st VP Cora Smolianski has been participating from April 29th to June 1st in an interactive
workshop regarding how insurance analyze their claims in the context of a pandemic.
Its results were presented through a Zoom conference hosted by IAATI LATAM BRANCH and
AALPS (with which we have an agreement of mutual cooperation) on June 23rd.
2) We are holding virtual meetings with representatives from the Latin American Association of
Security (ALAS) to sing an agreement of cooperation. The aim is to present to their members what
we do as an association in some of their “Virtual Coffee Talks” as they call them. It´s mostly
informal, but they are great opportunities to have a relaxed chat about MOs, possible solutions,
among others.
3) We´ve provided the Argentinian Ministry of Security with our own statistics regarding auto and
cargo theft, as a recognized entity to gather with responsibility this kind of information.
4) On 3rd July we participated of the International Conference on Criminalistics and Criminology,
which had speakers from all over the world, specialized in different areas of expertise.
