1. Ante partum eclampsia: -
The fits start during pregnancy before the onset of labour (50%).
2. Intra partum eclampsia:-
The fits start for the first time during labour (25%).
3. Post partum eclampsia:-
The fits start after delivery, usually within 12 hours and very rarely after
48 hours (25%).
NURSING ROLE:-
1. Prevention:- To decrease the incidence of the disease through.
Adequate nutrition: All pregnant patients should receive a balanced diet
containing at least 60 to 70 g of protein, 1200 mg of calcium, adequate
intake of zinc, magnesium, sodium and vitamins every day. Drinking 6 to
8 glasses of water or fluid per day.
Adequate rest: (Bed rest) to:-
• Facilitate venous return.
• Increase circulatory volume.
• Enhancing renal and placental perfusion.
• Lowering Bl. pressure.
• The pt. should take from 8 to 12 hours of sleep each night and rest
period in the middle of the day.
