Water therapy:
Water can
• Mobilize extra vascular fluid.
• Initiate diuresis.
• Decrease rennin, angiotensin and aldosterone.
So, water helpful in prevention or slowing the progression of pre -
eclampsia.
Early & appropriate prenatal care:
• Detection should begin on the first prenatal visit.
• Identification of high-risk group as diabetes.
• In each visit should weight the pt. take Bl. pressure detection of
protein in urine specimen.
Low - dose aspirin:
60 - 80 mg /day of aspirin because aspirin inhibits thromboxane production
and has minimal effect on prostacyclin therefore it restores the prostacyclin
/ thromboxane balance.
2. Assessment:-
A. Maternal well - being.
Assess cardiovascular system:
• Measuring blood pressure and pulse every 4 hours. The B/P should
taken from the right arm and the pt. lying on the left side.
• Evaluate the degree of edema every 8 hours.
• Daily weight should be obtained before breakfast.
