B) Local causes:

All Causes of Pelvic Congestion

1- Chronic pelvic infection

2- Pelvic tumor

3- Abnormal position of uterus as retroversion or prolapse

4- Simple pelvic congestion as chronic constipation

5- Endometriosis

Treatment

- General treatment: rest in bed. Blood transfusion may need for

sever cases.

- Treatment of the causes as hypertension.

- Antifibrinolytic agents can be given because it reduce menstrual

blood loss by 50%.

- Antiprostaglandins as Brufen tablets 400mg TDS during the period.

- Hemostatic agents as diosmin it decreases capillary fragility.

- Hormonal treatment

1- Progestrogens as primolut –N tablet. Dose 10-30 mg by mouth daily

(2-6 tablet) for 20 days.
