2- Oral Contraceptive Tablets. Two to four tablets daily until the
bleeding stop.
3- Estrogens: (Premarin) 25mg IV or IM and repeated after 4 hours if
necessary and up to 3 dose.
4- Danazol, is a synthetic androgen. Given in a dose of 200-400 mg by
mouth for 3 months
Surgical Treatment
1- Uterine Curettage.
Indications:-
- If bleeding is severe.
- If fails to respond lines of treatment.
- If patient above 40 years to exclude an organic cause in about 60% of
cases by removing the necrotic and endometrium.
2- Hysterectomy
Indications
- Indicated in a patient above 40 years when all lines of treatment fail
including repeated curettage at least twice.
Metrorrhageia: Irregular uterine bleeding not related to menstruation.
The cause is one of the following :
- Local lesion in genital tract which may be traumatic, inflammatory or
neoplastic .
