Polly's Crock Pot Chili

                                    Ingredients:

                                    4 lb ground meat
                                    2 Tbsp minced garlic or ¼ tsp garlic powder

                                    Brown meat with garlic and drain. Place in crock
                                    pot.
                                    Mix together:
                                    1 Tbsp ground cumin
                                    3-4 Tbsp chili powder
                                    ⅓-½ cup flour
                                    2 tsp salt
                                    ½ tsp pepper

                                    Stir into meat. Add 46 oz tomato juice. Cook in crock
                                    pot on high for 1 hour or at medium or low for 3-4
                                    hours.

                                                  Summer Squash Soup

                                    Ingredients:

                                    1 medium onion, chopped
                                    ¼ cup butter or margarine, melted
                                    6 medium yellow squash, sliced
                                    2 cups chicken broth
                                    ½ tsp poultry seasoning
                                    ¼ tsp salt
                                    ¼ tsp pepper
                                    1 cup half-n-half

                                    Sauté onion in butter until tender. Add squash,
                                    cover, simmer for 5 minutes. Add broth and
                                    seasonings. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
                                    Process in blender until smooth. Return to pan. Add
                                    half-n-half. Heat through. Yields 6 cups.
