Armadillo Eggs

Ingredients:
fresh jalapeno peppers
cream cheese
bacon strips
Preheat oven to 350°F. Cut jalapenos in half
lengthwise. Scrape out the seeds. Fill each pepper
half with cream cheese. Cut bacon strips in half
widthwise. Wrap the bacon strip around the pepper
half. Secure with a toothpick. Bake on a cookie
sheet until the bacon is thoroughly cooked and
jalapeno is soft. Let cool and munch away!

Barbecued Water Chestnuts

Ingredients:
(Serves 25)
2 cans whole water chestnuts
Uncooked bacon
⅔ cup ketchup
1 cup sugar
Drain water chestnuts. Wrap each in ½ slice bacon
and secure with round toothpick. Bake in baking
pan 1 hour in 325°F oven. Remove from baking pan
and transfer to a glass baking dish. Combine
ketchup and sugar; blend to dissolve sugar. Pour
over chestnuts. Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour in 325°F
oven. If desired double ketchup and sugar amounts.
