The order, issued by Governor J.B. Pritzker, applies to all individuals on Rich Township High
School District 227 property including faculty, staff, students, contractors and visitors whenever
appropriate social distancing of at least six feet cannot be accomplished. The face-covering
requirement generally will not apply to employees while working in private office areas if they are
alone, and are at least six feet from other employees. The District has provided masks for essential
workers. Employees may choose to wear their own mask. Appropriate face coverings include non-
medical grade masks, homemade masks, scarves, bandanas and handkerchiefs.

Medical-grade masks and N95 respirators are not recommended for general public use, per CDC
guidelines and the governor’s order, and should be reserved for use by health care workers, medical
providers and first-responders; however if an employee has purchased a N95 they are not prohibited
               from wearing such a mask.
