Flex Mod Scheduling
1. Master Scheduling
• A Flex Mod Scheduling User Guide has been produced for use by master schedulers.
See Attachment A.
• Course mods have been determined based on course team requests. See Attachment
B.
• Large group spaces have been identified at each campus and large group class
schedules have been created. See Attachment C.
2. Association Questions and District Responses
Q: Is this only at south? If not, will it be replicated?
A: This is a sample schedule, and a similar schedule will be at Central.
Q: How many teachers are there in each large group?
A: In theory, there should be a teacher per class section, i.e., two sections, tow teachers.
Unless the teacher is the only one who teaches that course, then administration will
schedule additional staff, which may be classified. One example would be Sue Lundgren
who may have three sections of Psychology. She may have be exempt from LG unless
additional adult supervision is secured.
Q: What is the large group “max”?
A: The large group max is twice the class size cap. For example, the class cap for a social
studies class is 29 so the large group cap would be 58.
Q: If a teacher has a 7:30 am class, are they “done for the day” at 2:30?
A: Dr. Echols will prepare three schedules with different start times.
Q: It looks like all the classes are 40 minutes long except for American Studies (I know
its 2 mirrored classes) is this the only class with that model?
A: Yes
Q: Is there only going to be humanities and science classes in large group?
A. Only English, Social Studies and Science will have large groups.
Q: Are only three rooms going to be used for large groups?
A: Yes. Each campus has identified three spaces for large group rooms.
