- The Building Automation Upgrade project at Rich South has been completed. Closeouts
have been addressed and final billing was submitted. We are happy and excited with the
new upgrade and look forward to continuing throughout the entire system.
- Some deteriorating concrete in the parking lot of the District Office was replaced. We
anticipate replacing more areas over the summer to eliminate the major tripping hazards and
washed-out locations.
Updates
- The Buildings and Grounds staff has begun their summer work hour schedules as required
by the Classified Staff collective bargaining agreement. The Buildings and Grounds
classified staff will be working Monday – Thursday from 7am to 4:30pm. During our
summer hours we will be focusing on assisting with construction where needed, completing
our facility moves, and performing our normal summer cleaning and building preparations
for the 20/21 school year.
- The Buildings and Grounds Department is looking to dispose three tractors (1 at each
campus) that are each approaching 40 years old or more. These machines no longer fit our
need for grounds maintenance. We will look to purchase a second skid steer for the District
in place of the tractors. The skid steers are more compact, maneuverable, and can do more
for what we need on the school grounds than the current tractors.
- We started scheduling our system inspections that occur every summer to make sure we are
in compliance with state and local regulations. Some of these include our fire system,
sprinkler system, and back flow prevention inspections.
- Our annual energy reduction event will occur on June 24 from 12pm to 1pm. During this
event we reduce our kWh (electrical energy consumption) usage by shutting down major
electrical equipment, lighting, etc. This event will not impact District Office; it only takes
place at the campuses. We plan to meet our goal 100% as we did last year to get a full
reimbursement amount. Our reimbursement total from last year’s reduction was $37,430.50.
