Human Resources
The Office of Human Resources has worked diligently with building administrators to ensure that all
positions are filled with highly qualified teachers. The District currently has one remaining teaching
vacancy and the position has been assigned to a highly qualified substitute teacher who has a
Doctorate in science. The District has one vacancy for a Coordinator of Student Support Services,
One position for a Public Relations Liaison, and One vacancy for the Coordinator of Culture and
Climate. The Board will take action on the recommended candidate for the Coordinator of Culture
and Climate on November 17, 2020. The District is still seeking a highly qualified candidate to serve
as the Coordinator of Student Support Services and may utilize retirees to assist until a highly
qualified candidate can be recruited.
During the Pandemic, the Professional Evaluation Committee has convened and we utilize a modified
version of the Danielson Framework to evaluate teachers on cycle. The modified framework evaluates
14 of the 22 components that Danielson recommends for remote instruction. The administration and
faculty association are working together collaboratively to provide mentoring, support, and
continuous and sustained professional development for teachers.
Influenza Vaccination
District 227 collaborated with Walgreens Pharmacy and offered approximately 85 staff members
received the flu vaccinations onsite at no cost to the employee. In an effort to lower the premium
coverage with our cooperative the District will also offer health screenings to help employees gauge
the status of their health and seek treatment. These health initiatives support families and improve
employee attendance. Walgreens has partnered with Rich Township High School District 227 to offer
vaccinations to students and families after school. This event is scheduled for the third week in
November.
