❖ With the slow development of the school in this way, on 1 of May 1961 R/Sri
Rahula Vidyalaya was sent as the new principal. Mr. Dharmawansa has taken
over the work. He is a native of this area. During his service, the number of
children in the school has grown to 180. Classes are held from 1st grade to 9th

grade. This principal retired on 31 December 1967. After that, Mr. Sirisena

has taken over the position of Principal of this school.

❖ Then in 1970, Mr. Premaratne Mirigama came to R/Sri Rahula Vidyalaya
as Principal. His tenure was a time when the school took a very developmental

path. His wife has also been engaged in teaching in this school. She was a very
talented teacher.

❖ During the service of this Principal Premarathne Mirigama, it was clear from
the log notes found during the consultation of the log books that this Sri Rahula

Vidyalaya had become a very popular school in this area. In 1983, Principal

Premarathne Mirigama retired from Sri Rahula College. On the 15 of March
1983; Mr. R. M. T. B. Ratnayake took over as the Principal of Sri Rahula
