Abstract In order to improve the quality of the automotive components, especially interior
parts of the car, there is a need to do some research about the components and study its
mechanism for the improvement of the automotive components. The objective in this project
is to study the automotive components for interior car parts including its mechanism used in
the part and material used for the product as well as the data including the reliability of the
automotive roof handle used in sedan type of car. In this project, the components is used for
sedan type of car as it is the most commonly used type of car in Malaysia. The overall task in
analyzed and proper suggestions of design are developed to replace the current design of the
automotive roof handle. This report starts with an introduction of the automotive roof handle
parts used in car and its purposes for the components. Then the further topic describe on the
important of the automotive roof handle and its advantages towards user or passenger inside
the car. Several design have been made and only 4 are selected for this project as in term of
design, reliability and comfortability aspect. Besides, mechanism regarding the automotive
roof handle will be listed and selected based on the suitability for the usage. There is also matter
regarding material of the parts used in every components in this project that is taken into list as
for the improvement of reliability usage. Next, all the sketches chosen will be created in a
proper way using Solidwork CAD software. Each part and component of the automotive roof
handle will be tested using the Finite Element Analysis Method in SolidWork CAE software
to obtain data on the strength, stiffness, and deformation of the automotive roof handle part for
everyday use. The handle will be fully fabricated, and for the second output in this project,
design analysis from CAE results will be performed using SolidWork CAE software. This
project will be successfully completed when the completed result will be created and proved
to be fullfilling almost every factor needed for the purpose of used of automotive roof handle
                inside the car.
