Abstract The engine block is one of the important components of a motorcycle. It plays an
important role in ensuring that the motorcycle works appropriately. The surface roughness of
the engine cylinder affects the engine efficiency. Therefore, the researcher underwent
experiments to find the optimum to obtain the smooth surface roughness for the engine block.
Using the surface roughness test machine and making cuts using a CNC Milling machine shows
that the cutting speed, speed rate, and constant depth of cut affect the surface roughness results.
Minitab and Taghuci methods are used to obtain statistical analysis data in completing this
project. Taguchi Design is a technique for determining the best combination of milling
                parameters for reducing surface roughness.
