Abstract In Computer Aided Geometric Design (CAGD), the Bezier techniques involve Bezier
Curve and Bezier Surface, which are widely used in many platforms especially for designing.
Due to its significance, efficient techniques in order to improve and control the shape of Bezier
curves have become one of the major topics of research. This project focuses on designing
automotive parts which is vehicle’s exhaust, using Bezier curve and compares the efficacy
between Bezier curve and actual curve. There are a few designs of exhaust chosen for the
project. Exhaust is selected as it is popular among car users to boost up engine performance
and acts as an accessory to improve cars’ looks. All the theories and properties of the
applications as well as the calculation and analysis are illustrated using Matlab. Besides Matlab,
there are other methods used in this project which are Geogebra and Blender. Geogebra is used
to set up control point of the designs in Bezier curve formulation, while Blender is used to
generate the designs from 2D into 3D. The data demonstrates that many designs can be created
using Bezier approach by altering the control points. The thesis ends with a conclusive remarks
that Bezier techniques can provide more flexible control on the design shape and have the
ability to produce a more accurate curve shapes as compared to the actual curve.
