The Council was particularly encouraged by the work and response of the NYAA Gold Award
Holders' Alumni or GAHA. On their own accord, the members took the lead in spearheading several
community projects to help the vulnerable in our society. Some of our GAHA members even
ventured into the international arena through technology to bring young leaders worldwide to do
good collectively. GAHA's action was inspirational and much appreciated by the NYAA Council, the
leaders, and the local and global communities which benefitted from their efforts.

These are some examples of the meaningful projects that the NYAA executed in Singapore during
                   the pandemic:
                       • Encouraging and supporting our healthcare and front-line workers
                       • Creating a helpline for the community during the COVID-19 pandemic
                       • Donating Care Packages to the needy elderly in our community

These initiatives by the NYAA and GAHA members created an impact. They made a difference to
those who needed help in the community.

In the international arena, the NYAA continued to provide leadership and support in the following:

                          Zealand.

Funding for the NYAA programme remains a challenge. Over the years, we were fortunate to
receive strong support from donors such as the Tote Board. Yet, NYAA did face some cash flow
issues due to policies of deficit funding in the earlier agreement with the Tote Board. In 2019, we
resolved the problems and embarked on fundraising events to build up the finances of the NYAA.
