Participating in this project has given me valuable insights into aquaculture’s importance in
Singapore. It enhances food security, promotes sustainable resource management, drives
economic growth, fosters technological innovation, supports environmental conservation,
and diversifies food sources. Following Mr Ng’s experiences as the fish farm owner through
this journey, I appreciate the meticulous attention to detail required in fish farming, from
monitoring water temperature to understanding the impact of lighting on fish quality.

I have realised that despite the advancements in the industry, there are still areas for
improvement, especially concerning limited resources and staffing constraints. However,
this project has underscored the significance of sustainability in Singapore and how energy
conservation can have far-reaching benefits for our future. It has deepened my understanding
