Passive Fall Prevention Devices
 Temporary work platforms - A temporary work platform i s a platform that
provides a working area for the duration of work carried out at height, and which is
designed to prevent a person from falling

 Scaffolds - Scaffolds are a common means of providing a safe working platform for
working at height.
 Trestle scaffolds - Trestle scaffolds may be used at heights greater than 2 metres

only when guard railing and toe boards are incorporated to prevent people and
material falling off the open side or end of the working platform.
 Elevating work platforms - Include scissor lifts, cherry pickers, boom lifts and

travel towers.
