RIIWHS204E-Work safely at heights
When using a mobile scaffold that has already been erected, you must make sure that
the wheels are locked before you climb onto it, also make sure the ground is flat, stable
and will support the weight of the scaffold, workers, tools, and equipment. If in doubt of
a scaffold’s safety, you should check with a licensed scaffolder or your supervisor or
manager before conducting any work on or near it.
INSTALLING EDGE PROTECTION AND FOOT WALKS
Edge protection includes both handrails and kickboards. When installing edge
protect on, you must always follow the instructions and work safely at all times. You
must have a fall -arrest system in place while installing guardrails or do any other work
near an unprotected edge.
Footwalls are a vital piece of safety when working on rooftop s. Footwalls are a type of
walkway that is installed on a rooftop they are designed to provide a safe, non -slip
surface for you to walk on. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and make sure
you have other safety equipment in place while installing the foot walk.
