DOG COLLAR AND LEASH
This is a classy but inexpensive set for your dog.

                                               TOOLS & MATERIALS

                                               Three-strand twisted rope
                                                       1 or 2 rings
                                                   Spring-tension clip
                                              Vinyl tape or whipping twine
                                                 Scissors or sharp knife
                                                           Ruler

For a collar of ½-inch (12 mm) rope, allow enough to comfortably encircle the
dog’s neck, plus 12 inches (300 mm) for the splices.

For a loose collar, attach both ends of the collar to the same ring using ring
splices. For a choke-style collar, use a ring splice to attach a ring to each end of
               the collar.

Allow 5½ feet (1.7 m) of rope for a 4-foot (1.2 m) leash. Attach the clip to one
end using a ring splice. Finish the other end with an eye splice, making the eye
               large enough for your hand.

Directions for the ring splice and eye splice are given in chapter 2.
