This knot is so simple and so effective, you may won-
der why people even bother with metal or plastic line
tighteners. The guyline hitch can even be backed up
with an overhand knot in the working end to prevent
it from being loosened too far.
1. Tie two overhand
knots about 3 inches
apart and roughly 3 or 4
feet from the end. Pass
the working end around
the tent stake and back
through both knots
from the front.
2. shorten the length
of the loop by holding
the first knot and pull-
ing on the working end.
Lengthen the loop by
holding the second knot
and pulling on the loop
from the front.
