Baptist Church and was a very influential

leader in the Southern Baptist Convention.

He wrote a book in 1983 titled Believe, Plus

Nothing, and this is going to be the

controversy that I'm going to mention in a

moment as to whether salvation requires

repentance and faith or whether it's just

believing. Well, this pastor wrote this book,

Believe, Plus Nothing, and he argued against

repentance for salvation. I'm not going to

read the whole quote. I've had it for

probably twenty years. But let me read one
