But verse 36 is the passage I really want

to focus in on. In verses 33, 34, and 35 Jesus

is resurrected; He’s ascended and seated at

the right hand of the Father, and then in

verse 36 Peter said, “Therefore let all the

house of Israel know assuredly, that God

hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have

crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Peter’s first

sermon on the day of Pentecost was

preached basically to Jews on this feast day,

and as Peter preaches, there are 3,000

converted. And as we read through the rest

of this chapter beginning in verse 41

through 47, we find that those 3,000 that
