have cast out devils? And in thy name done
many wonderful works?” And Jesus will say
to them, “I never knew you: depart from me,
ye that work iniquity.” All our good works,
even those done in the name of Christ,
cannot cleanse us of our sins. Only the
blood of Christ cleanses us from all sin, and
our only hope of a home in Heaven is to
recognize our depraved spiritual condition
and our need of cleansing of our sins by the
sacrifice and shed blood of God’s Son on the
cross of Calvary.
Psalm 8
Psalm 8 is the first of the foregoing psalms of
David that begins with David’s praise and
adoration of God for who God is. David
acknowledges God as the Creator of the
heavens and the earth and seems to
appreciate God’s favor on mankind in that
