P. 59

It’s refreshing to read a psalm of David that

begins on a note of praise and adoration

towards God. In our Christian walk, we, too,

should be careful not to come across as a

               negative and complaining person only

noticing that the glass is “half empty” rather

than “half full”; in other words, we need to

count our blessings even when we are

               experiencing, hardship, disappointment,

sickness or even loss of close relationships.

God is in control of all our adversities, and 1

Thessalonians 5:18 tells believers that we

are to give thanks in everything “for this is

the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning

               you.” The circumstance itself, although

under the control of God, is not something

that we can necessarily give thanks for at

the time, but we are to continue to give

thanks to God even in the midst of painful
