Psalm 9
David continues with his songs of praise to
the Lord. He was confident that God was
going to “turn back” his enemies. Not only
had David experienced God’s rebuke of his
enemies, but he seems to prophetically foresee
the day when God would once and for all
destroy the wicked and “put out their name
for ever and ever.” But David rejoiced in the
preservation of the righteous and anticipated
the day when God would “judge the world in
righteousness.”
