appears again in Acts 21, verse 21. But in verse
3, the Greek word here for "falling away" is
a-p-o s-t-a-s-i-a. Our English word “apostasy” is
not in the Authorized Version, but it is a
legitimate word, and this English word is
derived from this Greek word that's translated
"falling away."
Now, I want to speak to you this morning
about apostasy. And you ask, "What does it
mean?" Well, it means falling away. I can give
you many synonyms, but it basically means
falling away, and it has to do with departing, a
defection from the truth, a desertion or
abandonment of the things of God. It has to do
with a revolt or a rebellion or withdrawing from
God and His Word. Now, this word is especially
associated with turning from the Person and
