About Being a Grandmother
About Being a Grandmother
By Anita Farson
I truly believe that no grandmother could love
her grandchildren more than I’ve loved mine.
When our first grandchild was born, my heart
was flooded with a kind of love that I had never
experienced before even with my own children.
My son will tell you how “absorbed” I was with
my first grandchild Jolene (see back cover),
maybe almost to the point of being “obsessed”
with her comfort and pleasure when she spent
time in our home (which created some problems
when she returned to her own home and her
parents didn’t have the time to give her that
same undivided attention). I made a concentrated
and deliberate effort to make sure that “staying
at Grandma’s house” was an e n joyable and
pleasant experience for my grandchildren.
