About Being a Grandmother

But I truly had no wrong intentions or self-

centered interests in the way I’ve related to my

grandchildren. I’ve loved them deeply, and I

tried to provide a Christ-honoring environment

when my grandchildren (or anyone else, for that

matter) spent time in our home.

I was working part time as a deposition reporter

when our first grandchild was born, so my hours

were very flexible. I was able to choose my

workdays, and when I did work, much of my

work was done in the evenings in the privacy of

my own home, which allowed me to spend a

good part of a day caring for our grandchildren.

And it was especially enjoyable when our

grandchildren were able to spend a night or two.

I loved being with my grandchildren, and when

they were young, they also loved being in our

home. Surely the love of grandparents for their
