grandchildren – and especially protective of
their spiritual well-being. We live in a world that
does not promote honor and devotion to God.
Even in many churches, godly behavior is
discouraged and ridiculed. The emphasis is
more on secular activities, fun and entertainment,
and being accepted, admired, and approved of
by the congregation rather than focusing on
pleasing and honoring God. Sadly, many
churchgoers love the praise of men more than
the praise of God (John 12:43).
It’s hard to stand by and watch the influences of
an unregenerate world (and also the influences
of unregenerate church members and family
members) have a detrimental effect on the lives
of those we love so dearly. If we had it to do over
again, my husband and I would have protected
our own children more from the subtle and
