About Being a Grandmother

happiness and purpose in life in the temporal

things and activities of this world rather than in

the eternal things of God. And God’s Word

clearly teaches that we are to “Love not the

world, neither the things that are in the world”

(1 Jn. 2:15) and that “whosoever therefore will

be a friend of the world is the enemy of God”

(James 4:4). Succinctly, “worldliness” could be

accurately defined, in part, as seeking pleasure

from the world rather than from God.

Honor Thy Father and Thy Mother

Although our children and their families are

very involved in church life, as our grandchildren

have gotten older, our differences in Christian

convictions have resulted in some discord and

some distancing in our relationship with our

children and grandchildren. But in spite of

differences with their parents, children at any

age are still instructed to honor their parents

(Eph. 6:2), and according to Ephesians 6:3,
