About Being a Grandmother

             corporal punishment (“scourges”), and Hebrews


             12:11  tells  us  that  “afterward  it  yieldeth  the




             peaceable fruit of righteousness.”


             And contrary to the anti-spanking movement in


             our  day,  controlled,  non-abusive  corporal


             punishment for a child’s deliberate defiance and


             disobedience  is  an  expression  of  love  for  the


             child  and  not  an  act  of  violence  or  hatred.


             Proverbs 13:24  says,  “He  that spareth  his rod


             hateth his son; but he that loveth him chasteneth


             him betimes.”  According to this Proverb, it’s


             the  parent  who  spares  the  rod  who  hates  his




             child and not vice versa.


             The   definition   of   “love”   has   also   been


             distorted  and  redefined  to  mean  an  over


             indulgence of material things and an excessive


             pursuit  of  earthly  pleasures,  activities,  and


             entertainment.  When  parents  “love”  their


             children in this way, they teach them to pursue
