darkened.” God has revealed Himself to

mankind in creation, in conscience, and, of

course, in His Word, but we find in verse 21

that man refused to glorify God and be

thankful, so darkness set in. And then in

verse 22, man refuses the wisdom of God.

Verse 22 says, “Professing themselves to be

wise, they became fools.” So we see the

foolishness of man. And verse 23 says, “And

changed the glory of the uncorruptible God

into an image made like to corruptible man,

and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and

creeping things.”

So in verse 23 we see that man refused

to worship and honor God, and we see the

subject of idolatry. The first step in divine
