the  text,  we  see  that  the  people  wanted



             their own pleasures and their own way. They



             rejected the truth of God.  One writer says,



             "Here  is  traced  to  practical  tendency  of



             heathenism, not an innocent and harmless



             system but as resulting with the most gross



             and shameful acts of depravity.”




                    So  what  does  it  mean  when  the  Bible


             says  that  God  gave  them  up?  We'll  find




             similar  expressions  all  through  the  Old


             Testament and New Testament.  It basically




             means that this is God's judgment, a judicial


             act. They're declared guilty and God abandons



             them;  in  other  words,  He  pulls  away  His



             restraints  and  leaves  them  to  their  own
