Turn your eyes upon Jesus;

Look full in His wonderful face,

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim

In the light of His glory and grace.

It should be noted, however, that it’s not

sinful to enjoy gifts and God’s material

blessings in our lives, nor is it sinful to enjoy

innocuous and God-honoring activities.

James 1:17 says, “Every good gift and every

perfect gift is from above, and cometh

down from the Father of lights, with whom

is no variableness, neither shadow of

turning,” and Solomon said in Ecclesiastes

3:13, “And also that every man should eat and

drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour,

it is
the gift of God.” But material possessions

and even innocent activities can become
