covetousness can be very damaging to
relationships and harmful to the cause of
Christ and Christian ministries. But a person
who has a right relationship with God and
who loves as God loves will not envy nor
covet what belongs to another person,
whether it be material possessions, secular
or personal successes, academic
accomplishments, or even relational or
spiritual blessings. There will be nothing to
envy or covet when a person has found joy
and complete fulfillment in Christ apart from
anything the world has to offer and apart
from depending upon other people or
activities to bring joy and fulfillment to life.
