in secret himself shall reward thee openly.”

Much of what is accomplished in life is

motivated by a desire to be praised,

approved of, and/or admired by others —

and some even mistakenly believe that if

they gain the praise and approval of others,

whether it be in the world or in the church,

they will also be approved of by God. But

Luke 6:26 warns, “Woe unto you, when all

men shall speak well of you! for so did their

fathers to the false prophets,” and Jesus said
