Figure 5.9.5 Endometrial Hyperplasia (Feline) CT

             (a) CT+C, TP (b) CT+C, TP (c) CT+C, TP
5y F Persian imaged for ureteral obstruction. Images are ordered from cranial to caudal. The uterus is markedly enlarged and fluid filled
with enhancing walls (a–c: arrows). Folds are visible in the wall of the uterus, causing an undulating pattern. The ovaries were unremark
able (not shown). An ovariohysterectomy was performed, and marked endometrial hyperplasia and endometritis were found on histopa
thology, possibly related to recent pregnancy.

Figure 5.9.6 Retained Testicles (Canine) CT

             (a) CT+C, TP (b) CT+C, TP (c) CT+C, DP
1y M Shih Tzu imaged for an extrahepatic portosystemic shunt. Images a and b are ordered from caudal to cranial. The right testicle
is mildly atrophied (a: solid arrow) and is located in the inguinal region external to the body wall (a: open arrow). The epididymis is
visible laterally as a more strongly enhancing curvilinear structure (a: arrowhead). The left testicle (b: solid arrow) is located internal
to the abdominal wall (b: open arrow) and lateral to the bladder (b: asterisk). There is minimal contrast enhancement, and the
epididymis is not visualized. On the dorsal plane image, the testicles (c: arrows) are internal to (left) and external to (right) the
musculature of the body wall (c: open arrows).
