Indonesia and Malaysia have agreed on a single-channel mechanism for the placement of
Indonesian migrant workers in the neighboring country. For domestic workers, it has been
agreed that each worker will only be employed in a household with a maximum of six family
members, Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah said here on Tuesday. After a meeting with her
Malaysian counterpart Datuk Seri Saravanan Murugan, she said both countries have agreed to
work closely on the placement of Indonesian migrant workers.

PLACEMENT
We have agreed that the sending of Indonesian workers to Malaysia must be done through a
one-channel system. Jakarta - Indonesia and Malaysia have agreed on a single-channel
mechanism for the placement of Indonesian migrant workers in the neighboring country.
For domestic workers, it has been agreed that each worker will only be employed in a household
with a maximum of six family members, Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah said here on Tuesday.
After a meeting with her Malaysian counterpart Datuk Seri Saravanan Murugan, she said both
countries have agreed to work closely on the placement of Indonesian migrant workers.
"We have agreed that the sending of Indonesian workers to Malaysia must be done through a
one-channel system," she said.

channel system will integrate all placement processes, starting from workers' recruitment,
preparation, departure, placement until their return to the home country, she explained.
The system will connect ministries and institutions in Indonesia with the related authorities in
Malaysia, she informed.
