Club Captain’s Report
                     ` 2008

                                                       Matt (The Chef) Oates

A word from the Club Captain, the sexy Mathew ‘Chef’ Oates…

“It’s been a fantastic year for the Clams, and all the boys should be so proud of themselves
for the hard work they put in both during the pre-season and season itself. It was
unfortunate to not finish the way we all would have wanted, but that should only enhance
the drive we all have to work that much harder to bring home the premiership in 2009!

Jack Mundey was outstanding as coach, and without his guidance and persistence in
training and at games we wouldn’t have seen the great result we achieved. Also without the
leadership of Chad Lambert and Darren Drury on the field we would not have worked so
well together as a team like we did. Of course the Clams would not have been able to
accomplish a great season without the dedication of Crooksie and Di – they are the
backbones, front bones, and every major organ of this club, and for this we thank them a
              million times over.

The season, both on and off the field brought highs and lows, but through it all we, the
Mighty Clams, stuck together, helping each other out through thick and thin. I said at the
season launch that the attendance from all the players and supporters at that function
showed great gumption for the club, and that’s something that didn’t waiver during the
season. If anything it only improved and gave great strength to the club.

I’m tremendously proud of all the boys, and I look forward to another top season in 2009!”

              THANKS CHEF
