Will the Real Christians Stand Up
I desire to be like Jesus. I want the whole world to know that
I breathe and live for him, and I,too, would lay down my life.
Is there anyone in here today that feels the same way? Be
blessed.”
The youth applauded as Samaria walked to the podium.
“Wow,” Samaria said, “talk about a difference. There’s an ev-
erlasting fire burning on the inside of me to love what Jesus
loves and hate what he hates, and if that causes me to be
different in this world, then so be it.”
Applauds were heard throughout the place.
“I’m prepared to be shunned and talked about be-
cause I take a stand for who I believe in. I’m here to talk about
compromise. I looked up the word compromise in Webster,
and it defines compromise as the act or practice of each
side, giving up something to reach an agreement. Another
definition of compromise is to place yourself in danger. We
must know that when we make a choice to compromise with
sin, we are giving up our holy standards so that Satan, rather
than God, can be glorified in our lives. We also must know that
compromising puts us in grave danger. There’s a price to be
paid when one has made a choice to lower their standards to
compromise with sin. The price sometimes ends with spiritual
death. We, as youth for Christ, should never compromise with
sin. We must know that there’s a penalty to be paid when
we do. We must understand that when we don’t compromise
with sin, others are drawn to our uncompromising lifestyle. We
are allowing the person to make a choice for Christ to live and
reign in their lives.”
Some of the youth clapped while some agreed among
each other.
“In this covenant of salvation, our walk is not based on
how we feel; it’s based on our faith in Christ and his unchang-
