Will the Real Christians Stand Up Will the Real Christians Stand Up
The First Assembly
“My friends and I talk about being different all the time.
We take pride in not wanting to be like everyone else and
being leaders for Christ. I took the time to define the word
‘different’. Webster defines it as being not of the same kind. It
gives an illustration that apples are different from oranges. I, of
course, would be an orange because that’s my favorite fruit,”
Katey said as the youth started laughing.
“When one has made the remarkable decision to re-
ceive Christ into their heart, they are required to be different
from the world. We should never want to be like what God
almighty has called us from. 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us that if
any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things are
passed away, behold, all things have become new. We as
born-again believers do not talk how we used to talk, we do
not act the way we used to act, and we do not live the same
lifestyle that we used to live. We do not compromise our prac-

change. They want to be freed from the powers of Satan, sin,
and darkness. When you and I are given the opportunity to
be in their presence, they should know that there is something
different about us. They should see the light of Jesus dwelling
on the inside of us, and become curious about the difference
they see. At that very moment, God has given us the opportu-
nity to introduce that person to Jesus, Katey said.
The youth started clapping.
“There’s no greater feeling in the world than to walk in
a place and hear people talking about me and the march I
was part of. I can imagine Jesus and how he knew deep down
inside that being different would cause him to be cru- cified. I
don’t desire to be like the celebrities, artists, and entertainers;
