times when I was difficult, but they pushed me through and
kept me encouraged, especially through prayer. Principal
Hoscabal, thank you for all the sacrifices and future sacrifices
you will make for this school. You are one of the reasons I am
who I am in Christ today. Teachers, you’re the best on plan-
et earth. Thank you, everyone, God bless,” Katey said as she
ended her speech while the crowd applauded.
Samaria made her way to the podium, acknowledging
Katey as she made her way to her seat. “Good evening,” she
said as she positioned herself at the podium. “It feels so good
to be finished with high school!” Samaria yelled out loud. The
graduates went wild, cheering and clapping and stomping
their feet. They settled down as Samaria cleared her throat.
“I’m not sad at all, but I will miss everyone. As most of you
all know, I will be going into boot camp soon, and I am really
looking forward to it. I understand change now. People and
situations tend to change often, and we must adapt to those
changes to make it in this world. Sad to say, this chapter of my
life is closed, but I’m excited that I’m ready to write the next
chapter in my life. To my fellow seniors, you must remember
that life is constantly on the move, forcing you to make deci-
sions that will affect you later on in life. I’ve had some ask me
why I made a choice to go into the Air Force instead of col-
lege. Well, simply because the plan I have requires a broader
range than what I had originally set out to do. I thank my par-
ents for pushing me and putting up with me. They surrendered
their hearts to Jesus at a young age and have always encour-
aged me through Christ. I thank you, Principal Hoscabal, for
staying on me. Ever since the ninth grade, you have been
pushing me and motivating me to do my best and to never
give up. Thank you so much for that Principal Hoscabal. And
Mrs. Hoscabal, you have taught me things that I will treasure
