Will the Real Christians Stand Up Will the Real Christians Stand Up

         Katey’s Science Class

Katey sat at the edge of her row in class. This was the
science class, her chance to shine. The other students seem
to come alive in art class, amongst the pastels and fine char-
coal pencils. Still, for her, the sight of the laboratory was the
heaven she craved. Because she loved the subject so much

and gave her all to excel, she knew she did not deserve the F
the professor gave her on her last exam. When she asked for
a minute of his time to discuss the grade, the professor quickly
brushed her off and told her that the answers don’t lie. He re-
fused to discuss the matter. However, Katey hoped she would
have another opportunity before class to address the issue.

“May I have a minute of your time?” Katey asked polite-
         ly.
“Quickly, it’s almost time for class,” the professor said.
“Professor, you know I didn’t deserve an F. Is this about

the discussion we had about God’s existence and his son Je-
         sus Christ?
               “No, not at all.”
               “Then what is this about?”
“You didn’t do well on your science test, and that’s as
far as I want to go.”

The students started to pour into class. Now if you would
excuse me, I have a class to teach. A group of students en-
tered the classroom, and as soon as they spotted Katey, one
of them excitedly reported the news they heard. “Hey Katey,
you were just on the CNN news. Several states passed legisla-

tion for prayer to be kept in schools.” The students applauded.
“That was bold, I don’t think I could have done it,” one of the
         male students said.
“I can’t even speak in front of my science class, let alone
the whole world,” a female student said.
“What was it like?” another male student asked.
