Will the Real Christians Stand Up
“You, two,” Drill Sergeant Jackson said as he turned his
attention to the two soldiers in training. “I would like to have a
word with you in my office. Now!”
“Yes sir, Drill Sergeant Jackson,” they both said in unison.
The soldiers in training quickly proceeded to Drill Sergeant
Jackson’s office.
“At ease,” Drill Sergeant Jackson said to the soldiers in
training. “If there is a problem between the two of you, I sug-
gest you take care of it now. Because after you leave my of-
fice, and this problem continues, I will have you immediately
kicked out of boot camp.”
“This is one of the best teams that I’ve seen thus far, and I
will not have two knuckleheads mess it up by causing discord
among this team. Is that understood?”
“Sir, yes sir, Drill Sergeant Jackson.”
“Shake hands. Get used to each other, because, from
this point on and for the remainder of this boot camp training,
the two of you will spend it sleeping, eating and training with
each other. Is that understood?”
“Sir, yes sir, Drill Sergeant Jackson.” The two soldiers shook
hands.
“Carry on, Sergeant Jackson said as the soldiers returned
to the barracks.”
Samaria freshened up, ate her chow, and made her way
quickly to Drill Sergeant Jackson’s office. “Yes sir, Drill Sergeant
Jackson,” she said softly as she stood at attention.
“There you are. Have a seat.” Sergeant Jackson leaned
forward in his chair as Samaria sat down in the chair that was
in front of his desk. “I thought about where I could possibly
have seen your face. In fact, I thought about it a lot. Then it
dawned on me that you were one of the three young ladies
who led the march last month to keep prayer in school. Cor-
rect?”
