Will the Real Christians Stand Up Will the Real Christians Stand Up
“It’s such a blessing to see a work that God has started in
me still going forth in the lives of others,” Samaria humbly said.
“That’s the awesomeness about God,” a fellow soldier said.
“I don’t think prayer should be allowed in schools,” a sol-
dier shouted from his bunk. The soldiers in training that accom-
panied Samaria turned around to face the soldier that made
the rude comment.
They felt his comment was arrogant and rude.
“Who asked you?” one of the soldiers in training asked.
“No one had to. It’s my opinion,” the rude soldier replied. “Your
opinions will get you in a world of trouble if you don’t keep
them to yourself,” the soldier said. He then began to walk to-
wards the soldier who made the rude com- ments.
“Guys, really! He’s allowed to make whatever comments
he chooses, and I do my talking with love,” Samaria said as
she stood in between the two soldiers in training.
The soldiers came within inches of being face-to-face
with each other as their anger grew. Without warning, and
almost as if he were a ghost, Drill Sergeant Jackson appeared
at the barracks door. “Is there a problem here?” he asked.
“No, sir, no problem, Drill Sergeant,” Samaria said. “Good,
because if it is, we can take it outside. I would love to see a
good scuffle.” Drill Sergeant Jackson let out a slight laugh as
he turned towards Samaria. “I need to see you in my office,”
he said sternly.
“Yes Sir, Drill Sergeant Jackson,” Samaria said as she
quickly placed on her boots.
“Not now, Samaria,” Sergeant said. “After you freshen
up and feed your appetite.”
“Yes, Sir, Sergeant Jackson.”
